The Role

Are you a communications and time-management guru with the dedication and skill to oversee and deliver our creative output? Yes? Then you could be just what we’re looking for to fill our Traffic Manager/Senior Artworker role.

We’re looking for a Traffic Manager/Senior Artworker to help the Creative and Client Service teams to organise and deliver all external and internal projects.

You’ll be the conduit for all stakeholders (internal, freelance, and supplier), and fielding and assigning requests, tasks, and campaigns. You’ll be managing deadlines and delivering all projects on time, to budget, and at a consistently high quality.

You’ll have previously worked as a Senior Artworker or Designer with fantastic Adobe Creative Suite skills, and have extensive print and artwork knowledge with the ability to create and oversee our artwork output.

Your Mission

To ensure the smooth running of all creative work through the agency while delivering spotless artwork files for digital and print.

Key Responsibilities

  • Using Float and Salesforce to build, create, control, and communicate daily schedules, deadlines, resource availability, and any production issues
  • Efficiently managing studio time in accordance with the budget
  • Assessing and clarifying client briefs and allocating tasks to the creative team depending on their availability, priorities and skills
  • Giving on-demand updates during the working day to all project stakeholders as required/requested
  • Monitoring projects and workloads and adjusting time allocation and deadlines accordingly
  • Leading daily scheduling and workflow planning sessions with agency teams to ensure visibility on all upcoming projects
  • Maintaining all project/production files; naming, version management and project archives
  • Scheduling all freelancers and contractors, ensuring they have the appropriate resources needed and are educated in all required agency processes
  • Managing and building the freelance database of creatives and designers in conjunction with the Creative Director
  • Leading the creative team from an artwork perspective
  • Working closely with, and supporting, the creative team as a whole to follow designs and artwork from their conception to final sign-off
  • Having extensive knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Creating artwork files and retouching images to ensure they meet print and web standards, such as colour, typography, and image libraries
  • Correcting and formatting documents before they’re sent to the printers
  • Ensuring artwork is consistent and accurate and follows any brand guidelines
  • Imposing variable print files for digital print
  • Carrying out proof-checking prior to print and check printers’ proofs
  • Creating web assets to size and scale
  • Adapting existing artwork to alternative layouts and/or formats
  • Anticipating and supporting the activities of other members of the team
  • Demonstrating that you genuinely values others’ input and expertise and are willing to learn from others
  • Overseeing and mentoring the Junior Artworker
  • Establishing and maintaining collaborative inter-group relationships to achieve success on the project for the client and agency
  • Ensuring a clear focus on performance and that deadlines are hit with the highest standard of work

What you will bring

  • Minimum 5 years of artwork experience in an agency environment
  • Highly organised, skilled multi-tasker, collaborative, assertive
  • Fast and smart thinker with strong decision-making and prioritisation skills are essential
  • A desire for things to run smoothly, on time, and at a superior quality
  • Outstanding time management skills and an eye (or two) for detail
  • A people person with excellent interpersonal and communications skills, eager to help, take on responsibility, and able to work on your own initiative
  • Highly proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud and project management skills
  • Thorough understanding of print and digital production processes
  • Good understanding of modern print processes and finishing
  • Connected in the design and print industry to source freelancers/contractors and new suppliers
  • A relationship builder, able to balance the client, the work, and the team
  • Ability to take art direction and feedback
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
