The challenge

  • HP were launching the new Elite X3 phablet and Softcat wanted to raise awareness
  • They wanted to introduce the product to their customers and also to their Account Managers
  • Account Managers needed to be engaged with the product in order to start selling
  • The campaign was to position Softcat as the go-to seller for the product

The solution

  • To make the campaign super accessible, we rolled the content out across a range of mediums making it easily digestible
  • We set to work devising a campaign centered around a product launch video
  • To appeal to the internal Account Managers we opted for a fun and tongue-in-cheek style - a perfect fit for the Softcat brand
  • We scripted, sourced an actress, filmed and edited the video
  • We filmed within the Softcat Marlow office to link the product directly with Softcat - the place to go to buy the Elite X3! 
  • A dedicated landing page hosted the video along with product facts about the phablet
  • A paid social campaign drove traffic to the site as well as sharing the video 

The result

  • The video’s light-hearted humoured approach appealed to Account Managers and customers
  • The HP Elite X3 was launched in a fun, different and memorable way 
  • Viewers of the videos learnt about the product’s features and saw Softcat as the expert seller
  • The social activity gave our campaign a wide reach of 12,500 
  • Visitors to the landing page spent almost 5 minutes per visit viewing our content - a great engagement rate!
